Industry News – 2003 Spring Lecture on Wristwatches in Tokyo![]() A lecture about mechanical wristwatches and jewelry watches will take place beginning May 14 at the Gakushuin University Center, in Tokyo, Japan. The lecture is open to watch enthusiasts, trades people, and media. The lecture includes a demonstration on how to disassemble a complicated watch and the analyzation of the antique watch market by an expert in the field. The schedule of the Lecture is as follows: May 14, 2003 – History and culture of wristwatches May 28, 2003 – Mechanical wristwatch – its fascination June 11, 2003 – Antique watch study June 25, 2003 – Complicated wristwatch – the mechanism and disassemble July 9, 2003 – Jewelry and Jewelry watch – the “brand” study Among the lecturers will be: Mr. Hiromu Takizawa (Chief editor of IWW International Wristwatch) Mr. Koichi Namiki (Ex-chief editor of “Diamond Executive”) Ms. Keiko Honma (Jewelry journalist) Mr. Shigeo Maeno (Sports Analyst) The Lecture Fee will be 15,000 Yen (for 5 sessions).
