WHO:
AUDEMARS PIGUET welcomed Arnold Schwarzenegger last night to celebrate the grand opening of their US flagship boutique as well as the launch their limited edition Royal Oak Offshore Terminator 3 Chronograph. On hand to represent Audemars Piguet were be the Company’s President Georges-Henri Meylan and President of North America, Francois-Henry Bennahmias as well as Jasmine Audemars, Chairman of Audemars Piguet. Helping Mr. Schwarzenegger conduct the live auction was Richard Brierley of Christie’s.
WHAT:
The grand opening of the Audemars Piguet US flagship boutique in New York City. The evening consisted of cocktails & hors d’oeuvres and a live auction of limited edition items from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines; the highly anticipated third installment in one of Hollywood’s most innovative franchises (opens July 2nd nationwide by Warner Bros.) Auction items included 4 prototype Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Terminator 3 Chronographs featured in the movie as well as an Indian Chief T3 limited edition motorcycle, T3 pinball machine by Stern Pinball, Inc., T3 humidor designed by Daniel Marshall and other assorted items. Proceeds from the live auction will benefit the Inner-City Games Foundation. $400,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of Audemars Piguet collectors and fans of the Terminator series. BACKGROUND:
Audemars Piguet is the oldest Haute Horlogerie watchmaker still in the hands of its founding families and holds a record number of world firsts in terms of complex watch mechanisms. Audemars Piguet created an extreme watch for the movie Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, the Royal Oak Offshore Terminator 3 Chronograph. A very limited number of prototypes were manufactured; only four will be sold to the public.
The mission of the Inner-City Games Foundation is to provide opportunities for inner-city youth to participate in sports, educational, cultural and community enrichment programs; to build confidence and self-esteem; to encourage youth to say “no” to gangs, drugs and violence and “yes” to hope, learning and life.
