Industry News – Sotheby’s Auction of Important Watches & Clocks

A few weeks ago, Sotheby’s held an auction in New York City were a total of 276 lots were shown, bringing in over $1.8 million.

Among the highlights was this Patek Phillipe in a 36mm white gold case. It features an automatic movement with minute repeater and perpetual calendar. The Ref. 3974 was made circa 1995. It sold for $299,200.

Other interesting pieces were this Rolex Oyster Astronomical, circa 1951, a Ref. 6062 that went for $45,000.

and this 39mm Girard-Perregaux gold tourbillon, made circa 2000 (This watch is number 3 in a limited series) that went for $54,000.
